Mia the Morkie 16

Meet Mia the Miami Morkie.

What does Mia mean to you?

Mia is basically my world!

She is my fur baby and goes wherever I go. It doesn’t matter what kind of day I may be having, she always manages to make me forget about it all and puts a smile on my face.

What do you think it means to be a pet owner?

Being a pet owner is a huge responsibility.

To me, it’s almost the same as having a child. It’s not just a temporary thing because this pet can be with you for over a decade if you’re blessed, and you need to be willing to work your life around this pet.

New apartment? Needs to allow pets. Vacation? They either come with you or stay in boarding. Their whole life revolves around you and they do so many intangible things for us, and only ask for love in return.

Name your favourite thing about Petbar?

My favourite thing about Petbar is how it brings together pet lovers from all over the world! There are so many adorable animals to see in one place!

What is the story behind adopting Mia?

Mia was originally going to be a surprise for my grandmother as a new companion.

She’s wanted a dog for a long time because she’s alone and they make her so happy. The plan was, after I trained Mia, since my grandmother isn’t experienced with this, I would give Mia to her.

Well I got Mia, and unfortunately, a day later my grandmother got sick and ended up in the hospital. So we decided it wasn’t the right time for her to care for a dog.

My whole family fell in love with Mia, and although I had three older dogs of my own, Mia brought a joy and playfulness into our home that it was otherwise missing.

We ended up keeping her, and the rest is history. My grandmother comes over frequently and enjoys Mia’s company during her visits.

If you could ask her one question, what would it be and why?

“If I can grant you one wish, what would it be?”

What opportunities have arisen since starting a social media account for her?

Since starting Mia’s account, I’ve basically abandoned my own personal Instagram! There just isn’t enough time for both, and I think it’s a good thing.

I used to get so caught up in other people’s pictures and videos! Sometimes I would feel that my life wasn’t as glamorous as others, when in reality, they were only posting what they wanted people to see.

On Mia’s account, I get to see adorable pet pictures everyday and each photo makes me smile more and more.

I love sharing Mia’s adventures with other people, to make them smile!
